On board the Odyssey
Born in the foothills of the famous mount Athos and originally manufactured by the hands of the monks of Saint Oros. The "Odyssey" is a product of a long heritage in traditional yachts, especially designed for the Aegean sea the trechantiri”.
Characterised by their great stability, strength and their spacious interior, the trechantiri have ruled the Greek seas for centuries, as fishing boats or for transport purposes. Traditional fishermen favour it over other types of boats, simply for its stability, rendering it as the safest on what can sometimes be unpredictable waters.
Fully refurbished in the year 2012-2013, the "Odyssey" is especially adapted for yacht cruises.
Thanks to its generous width, it boasts 2 comfortable double berth en suite cabins, one lovely 5 berth cabin, suitable for children and adults alike and a particularly attractive living/kitchen space. The captain's quarters are at a distance from the passenger area, thus affording the privacy and discretion required, as well as the peace and quiet essential for the smooth running of any cruise. Aboard the "Odyssey" you can also enjoy an outdoor living area and a superb sundeck. Omiros Evangelinos , the owner and captain of Odyssey has greatly respected its character, appreciating the luxury of its elegant simplicity. Thus after being refurbished and the installation of its spectacular gaff cutter rig, the authorities granted "Odyssey" its well earned official title of “ a Traditional Yacht. . ."
The "ODYSSEY" accommodates up to 8 passengers for overnight cruises and up to 25 people for day cruises.
The hire includes the captain's services.
The trip is made to measure, according to departure and arrival points previously decided upon, and involves time spent on board in a charming hotel-like environment. The cruise is designed entirely upon the wishes of the hire/s bearing in mind weather and maritime restrictions.
An example of a typical day: wake up, have breakfast on board, set sail for some hours. Anchor around lunchtime, allowing time for a swim, then a light lunch is served on board, followed by a siesta for those wishing to rest, or a chance to top up the tan on the sundeck. Set sail again, docking for the evening at either a port where you can sample Greek specialities in the local tavernas or at a small cove to light a fire for an evening barbecue.
